Marks and usage
The marks
The symbol and the three labels are free to use under CC BY 4.0, to show how a book you have registered was made.
Using a mark
When you register a book you agree, in the Terms, to show a label only for a work you have registered and declared accurately, and not to suggest that the registry certified, verified or endorses it. Those are conditions of registering. The marks are also licensed under CC BY 4.0, which does not restrict how they are used beyond requiring credit, so for everyone else the points below are requests:
- Register the book first, then show the label that matches your declaration, with its ID.
- Please keep the wording and colours as designed, so readers can recognise them.
- Please do not use a label for a work that has not been declared, and never imply that the registry certified or endorses a book. It records the author’s own declaration.
- If you reuse the marks outside a registered book, CC BY 4.0 asks for attribution, for example: Label: ATI Registry, ati-registry.org.
A separate trademark policy may be adopted when the registry is formally set up.
On a copyright page, something like this works well:
AI LABEL: AI MASTER EDITED (self-declared). Registered as ATI-YYYY-NNNNNN-XXXX: https://ati-registry.org/r/ATI-YYYY-NNNNNN-XXXX
Horizontal lockups
